Boosters

The Dakota Ridge Instrumental Music Boosters (DRIMB) was formed to:

  • Support instrumental music activities in the Dakota Ridge High School articulation area
  • Recognize student achievements
  • Promote pride within the school and community environment
  • Encourage involvement of staff, faculty, parents, and the community
  • Raise funds to support instrumental music activities

Parents involved with DRIMB have discovered what a wonderful opportunity it is to support their student’s experience in instrumental music through their volunteer efforts. The instrumental music program depends on volunteers to help with competitions, transportation, equipment purchase and repair, uniform distribution, and fund-raising, among other tasks. Volunteer efforts, whether on a limited or more extensive basis, are greatly needed and much appreciated

There are no fees or dues associated with membership in the Dakota Ridge Instrumental Music Boosters. Anyone with a student in the instrumental music program (high school, middle school, or elementary) is automatically a member!

Bingo is our primary means of fundraising. Many people have a misconception about bingo, so here’s the straight scoop: Bingo is a state licensed and closely monitored fundraiser for non-profit organizations. Each organization that is licensed to conduct bingo games is, in a sense, operating its own independent business–purchasing supplies, renting a licensed facility, maintaining financial records, advertising, providing a volunteer work force, paying taxes, etc–all in accordance with Colorado State Gaming Laws. So why do we operate a bingo “business”? Because it makes us lots and lots of money!!! Approximately 60-65% of our funds are earned through bingo!!! That’s $80,000 that we are not paying in school music fees!!! And that’s where you come in . . .

In order to run our “business” and earn all that money for the program, we need volunteer help–your volunteer help. Fortunately, the work is neither strenuous nor tedious. Volunteer duties include: selling bingo paper and pull-tabs (aka, “pickles”) to our customers, counting money and tickets, paying the winners, operating the cash register, and calling the bingo games. For a typical bingo session, we need 10-12 volunteers.

How do you sign up? Email your availability to drimbbingo@gmail.com
